Sara Zajac, MSW, LICSW

Sara earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington in 2013 and is an Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She has experience working with a variety of different individuals including adolescents, teenagers, adults and elderly adults. Sara believes in a person-centered, strengths-based approach where she meets her clients where they are at and works with them to develop treatment goals that each individual, family or couple identify as important and meaningful to them. Sara believes that every person deserves to live a life they feel is fulfilling and meaningful.

Sara takes an integrative approach to care while utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (including mindfulness and meditative practices), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solutions-Focused therapy and Positive Psychology with focus on quality of life.

Sara works with anxiety, depression, chronic pain and chronic illness, relationship and couples problems, family problems and other mental health concerns.

Throughout her career, Sara has worked at the VA Hospital in the primary care setting as well as the VA residential treatment programs for chronic pain and substance abuse. Sara also has experience providing mental health care in other residential settings, including long-term care and elderly patients, outpatient settings within primary care and in-home mental health care to include patients with multiple medical and mental health concerns. Sara has experience with both individual mental health treatment as well as group therapy treatment.

In her spare time, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and their rescue cats. Sara also enjoys weekend road-trips, shopping, acrylic painting and cooking.
